What does an approval actually record?
The name they typed, the time, their IP address and exactly which version. You can print it.
When a client approves, Soneam writes down the name they entered, their email if they gave one, the time in UTC, the IP address the approval came from, any note they added, and the exact version approved. The client is told all of that on the confirmation dialog before they press the button.
You can print the record, and the printed copy shortens the IP address, since what an engineer needs from it is whether two approvals came from the same place, and the full value stays in the database either way.
It is not an electronic signature and does not claim to be one. It is a fact with a time on it, which is the thing missing when a disagreement starts with "I never approved that".
