I’m Taka, the founder of Soneam. I work full time as a software developer and also master records. Soneam grew out of my experience sharing audio and collecting feedback from clients.
I wanted to keep the audio, revision notes and final approval together. Soneam gives clients one page where they can listen, leave comments, approve a version and download the final files.
About the measurements in our guides
The measurement articles include source data, encoder settings and scripts. They explain how true peak and signal differences were measured, which controls were run, and what the results can tell us. You can use the scripts to repeat the tests with your own audio.
Local test encodes are not recordings of a streaming service’s output. The articles distinguish measured results from assumptions about playback, and link to the available service documentation.
My background
Software development is my main work; mastering is part of my practice rather than a full-time profession. I use both when building Soneam and testing its audio features.
